Joy is...

...a sleep filled night.

...the right song at just the right time.

...a Bible verse that soothes the soul.

...a 2 year old squeezing your cheeks and saying, "I love you, Mommy!"

...a 6 year old who crosses out his name on a note that you give him that says "I love you, Gabe" and writes your name in the place of his before he hands it back.

...an 8 year old who wraps his arms around your waist and says, "You rock, Mom. I love you."

...an apple orchard on a cool fall day.

...good memories from childhood.

...little reminders of love.

...soup that warms you to your soul.

...laughing so hard with your husband that you have tears streaming down your face.

...being a mess and still being accepted.

...getting a great email from a friend a continent away.

...staying connected to family no matter how far away they are.

...watching the kids race their grandparents on Mario Cart with smiles the size of the moon.

...going to bed before the next day begins.

...being reminded every once in awhile about the things you forget.

...spending time with those who need you, even if they don't know how to tell you.

...children who fall asleep right away.

...hearing squeals of excitement from the kids when Daddy comes home.

...seeing the world in pictures.

...being held.

...feeling at home in church.

...God's grace.

...recipes from Mom.

...laughing with Dad.

...parents who stand by you.

...patience when you need it most.

...writing for the fun of it.
